A major global manufacturing firm needed to migrate to a new Unified Communications platform to enable enhanced collaboration and productivity across all business units and throughout the company’s workforce. At the same time, it was crucial to maintain normal operations and information exchange throughout the deployment process.Technology Solution
One of WrightRobbins’ experts envisioned, designed, built, and deployed a global Unified Communications technology infrastructure based on the Exchange 2007 and Office Communication Server 2007 platforms. The overall solution integrated e-mail, voice mail and messaging, instant messaging, video conferencing, and real-time presence information for all connected users. This centrally provisioned and managed solution used Active Directory federation services to ensure global users would benefit from Single Sign On (SSO) to easily access multiple applications with one user name and password. The solution was designed to improve collaboration and productivity by providing all employees with enhanced business tools and the ability to better manage information flow within and between teams in real time. It also offered mobile and remote users secure access to the same core infrastructure and tools that workers in-house at company locations enjoy.Results:
- 10,000 + employees were successfully integrated into the new Unified Communications platform.
- Employees across the globe have easy access to business-critical information through a secure, centrally managed solution. This has increased information usage to drive projects and collaboration by over 10% after launch, and allowed mobile workers to increase productivity by 10% as indicated by revenue growth in all markets served.
